27. I'm Going To Need An Off Switch Soon!

There are too many amazing things to do in Paris. It's just a fact. And I don't know how to not do them all, even if by mistake.

Allow me to explain.

Essentially, I got up today with the intention of doing the following.

1. Post Office (to see how the French folk do posting)
2. Bank (needed some moolah)
3. Notre Dame
4. Pantheon

That was it. Knowing that I have an early morning tomorrow to get off to Versailles, I figured that would do it, I would have a nice dinner, and then relax. Here's what I ended up doing.

1. Post Office (to see how the French folk do posting)
2. Bank (needed some moolah)
3. Notre Dame
4. Pantheon
5. Luxembourg Gardens
6. Luxembourg Palace
7. St. Sulpice Church
8. St. Germain St.

Yeah, that's twice the amount of plan that I had. Moral of the story? Who gives a shit, I'm in Paris!

NOTRE DAME

Folks, this is a stunning building. I have to admit to liking the outside a bit more than the inside, because it's quite dark in there. However, the whole thing is a damn marvel.

THE PANTHEON

This was a "Hey, I learned about that in Mrs. Thompson's class at Denison, I should see it" type thing (which to be honest a lot of this trip has been), so I went. I did NOT expect it to be this amazing. It's under renovation outside, so the whole thing gets a bit pooped on by that, but then you get inside, and it's... I'm running out of words like amazing, beautiful, wonderful, stunning, etc. for the things I'm seeing here, but they all apply, time and time again.

This next one... come ON!

I've just FedEx'd marriage papers for this next shot and I.

LUXEMBOURG GARDENS + PALACE

I came upon this completely by accident. I decided that that after a wonderful time at the Pantheon, I would walk to somewhere random. Somewhere random ended up being a McDonalds, at which I ordered a cheeseburger and small fries.

Folks, I'm not sure if there's much better than a terrible, terrible delicious patty and fries while walking through a park like this, watching this dude enjoy his laid back chair and his newspaper.

Burger gone and fries nearly there, I happened upon this palace. It wasn't a happening, it was a direct intention, but how English did I just sound there?

Anyhow, this is Luxenbourg Palace, and while I didn't get to go in, it's quite lovely on the outside.

ST. SULPICE CHURCH

I ended up looking at a map, which I've been trying not to do in Paris (there's too much to see and be surprised by, by walking randomly about), and noticed that right behind the above palace, there was a church that I had on my list of things to see.

It's an old-school one, and not really on the tourist radar, though it was on mine. There were few if no people in there, and it was really quite, well, wonderful.

ST. GERMAIN STREET

This is the "Yorkville" of the part of Paris I'm staying in. I couldn't afford or fit anything, except of course, a chocolate store!

I won't show you what I bought, because it's all wrapped up and I fear that I will eat it all if I unwrap it before I ship it home!

Alright, to bed with me, Versailles tomorrow and the early morning that comes with it. Tomorrow's post is sure to be a big one, I'm very excited! Until then!
